Agriculture-Forestry Council Preparation Workshops

The panels titled “Forests in the Process of Climate Change” and “The Future of the Forestry Sector”, which are among the side events of the V. Agriculture and Forestry Council to be held in April 2025, were held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. İbrahim YUMAKLI, at the General Directorate of Forestry Conference Hall on February 25, 2025. Our Chairman of the Board of Directors represented our Association at the meeting.

After the opening speeches of Mr. Bekir KARACABEY, Director General of Forestry and Mr. İbrahim YUMAKLI, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, a panel was held to discuss the situation of forests in the process of climate change. The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ömer KÜÇÜK, Vice Rector of Kastamonu University and the speakers were Prof. Dr. Mikdat KADIOĞLU (ITU), Prof. Dr. Yusuf SERENGİL (I.U. Cerrahpaşa Forestry Faculty), Prof. Dr. Aynur AYDIN, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul BİLGİLİ, Prof. Dr. İbrahim TURNA (KTU Forestry Faculty) and Osman KAHVECİ (TMMOB Chamber of Forestry Engineers).

Prof. Dr. Özden GÖRÜCÜ (Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University), Mr. Göksel KORKMAZ (President of TORİD), Mr. Haluk YILDIZ (President of TMMOB Forest Products Assembly-OMSAD), Mr. Ekrem YAZICI (FAO), Mr. Erdem KAPLAN (Forestry Cooperatives of Turkey) and Mr. Sabri AVCI (Vice President of TOBB Forest Products Assembly).
